Weekend Wrap-up

The boys had the week off from school and hubby took most of the week off from work. With a high school junior and a freshman in tow, we took them on a whirlwind tour of schools in the surrounding area - WPI, UMass Amherst, UMass Lowell and UConn. The goal was to see a variety of schools to help with the selection process. We each had our clear favorites and still have a substantial list of schools left to visit. While at UConn, we decided to take in a men's basketball game...it is a big part of the school and fun for all my boys. The kids declined to take a pic so we had them take one of us ;)
We then spent the rest of the weekend at a one game after another. The boys had basketball playoffs, baseball practice and hockey. What will we do with ourselves when they go off to school? yikes!

Sneaky Sunday

I have some class kits leftover from Cool Crops Andover and will be adding these to the layout kits bin. A cute and fun 2 page layout perfect for all of your winter photos. I've also drawn in some highlights with crystal drops. Kits will be available at Cool Crops Portsmouth. Limited availability...let me know if you would like me to reserve one for you. I will be at all 3 Portsmouth dates.

Random Friday

I don't always take my camera with me when I go to my boys' games. A few weeks ago, I did even though I had just gotten home from a weekend event. I can't tell you how glad I am that I did and that I captured this moment.

These are a couple of pics of our team's goalie. I hung out with his mom for most of the game and she mentioned that it was her birthday and she had half jokingly asked for a shutout from him. It was an intense game and we won 2-0, the first two periods of the game was scoreless. I was walking behind her out of the rink and saw him coming out and decided to start shooting. The look he gave her...oh be still my heart...I tear up every.single.time I look at these pictures! This is WHY I take photos and what I try to capture.

Don't mind me...I think I have something in my eye...sniff!

Weekend Wrap-up

I had the pleasure of spending my birthday weekend doing what I love...running a scrapbooking weekend and with lots and lots of my fave peeps. There was some shenanigans of course...we stole Jean's bowls for hats while she was trying to set up her booth for a photo op lol

And since it was my birthday weekend, we had to have cupcakes for our dessert social. It couldn't be just any cupcakes...we had to have mini cocktail cupcakes - margarita, pina colada and mudslide to be exact!
Here is a view of 1/2 the room. We had 71 total in the room for the entire weekend. And yes that You Go Girl canvas class is still a big hit.
When April is in attendance, Just Scrappin' isn't Just Scrappin' if there isn't a late night dance party :)
Next Just Scrappin' event is June 1-4 at the Sheraton Hartford South. See you soon!!!

Sneaky Sunday

I had an idea after watching the Superbowl and I couldn't leave it alone. So here is a two-page spread to document your Superbowl party. I only made a few, not sure how well they will sell, so if you want one, let me know and I'll set it aside for you.

Weekend Wrap-up

"A little bleary eyed this morning and maybe a little hoarse too. We held our breaths, I started knitting and watched the Patriots re-write Super Bowl history.
The boys were so hyped and I asked, "want to go get some new gear?" They were all in, and even though it was my idea to go, I traded kitchen clean-up duty with Jorge to take them. The line was out the door, freezing temps but what an experience. Now the debate begins on whether to hit the parade or not.
Before all this excitement...we celebrated a big academic achievement for Jori with sushi at his fave sushi place.
I watched a hockey game and missed a basketball game...happens when there are only 2 games on the schedule and both are at the same time.
And this crazy guy became a card carrying member of Barkbox's Destroyer Club...this toy lasted about 45 minutes. It was a duffel bag with two tennis balls inside. As you can see the bag is completely ripped apart and he even skinned and split one of the tennis balls. Shhh...don't tell him but I put the other one away for later, you know, when I'm busy and he's being a pill ;)

Month of Love

February = Valentine's Day. I have to admit, I don't have much use for Valentine's Day themed papers in my own stash now that my boys are older and not handing out Valentine's. It's also not a huge celebration at our house. But if you're the opposite and love Valentine's Day, here is a round-up of available Valentine's Day collections.

This Love & Adore line by Simple Stories is my favorite. I like the contrast of teal and yellow in with the light and dark pinks. And it's versatile enough I can use it to scrap date nights, anniversaries and any relationship.
Kaisercraft went with muted pinks and grays. A little moodier but I think could also be used for baby girl pictures or weddings.
Making Valentine's cards and/or projects...this So Loved line by PhotoPlay just screams Valentine's Day!
Another line that went with the yellow and pink contrast...Sweet Nothings by Fancy Pants Design. I think this one may even work for Chinese New year photos...I would use the reds and yellows!
Another Simple Stories line, You & ME, love the sepia toned papers. Maybe we will need to do something on Valentine's Day so I can use these papers!
Crate Paper has a cute line, Heart Day, but is only sold in large pads and individual sheets...a little difficult for me to stock but I like the colors and designs.
Another cute line is Be Mine by Pebbles. Perfect for class party photos or Valentine's Day activities with the littles.
And since I'm titling this post month of love, it would be remiss to not share two new wedding lines. This first one is Wedding Bliss by Echo Park...I like the gold with black and pink.
Second is Reminisce's Wedding Day line which is more photo realistic but pretty awesome.
Let me know if you would like me to have any of these in stock for you.

Layout Share: Sketch Challenge

Sharing a layout I worked on at our last Just Scrappin' weekend crop. This was a sketch challenge and although I'm not eligible for the contest, I like to participate and attempt all the challenges that I put out for the girls. Sketch used for the challenge was a Pagemaps.com sketch...my favorite sketches btw.
I followed it almost to the T except I used pictures instead embellishments. Love how I can showcase EIGHT photos of my mother-in-law's visit with us in Sacramento. Yes those little munchkins in the photo are my boys circa 2004.
