Weekend wrap-up

I had the pleasure of spending the weekend at a crop with the best group of ladies deep in the woods of New Hampshire. There was obviously a lot of scrapbooking accomplished and I even have evidence...
And we did take off from crafting to appreciate Mother Nature in all her glory. It was absolutely beautiful even if it was really cold and the white stuff started falling!
Snowed in and craving marshmallows...we did what any desperate scrapper would. We made heat gun s'mores. They were the yummiest s'mores I've ever eaten ;)
Then it was back to reality...the first game of ice hockey season! Defenseman #27 even scored a goal!!!
How was your weekend?

Weekend Wrap-up

The weekend isn't quite over for us yet...the boys have the day off from school by default, I don't have to go to work either, yay! We started off Saturday with the most beautiful weather, luckily, since J had his very first cross country meet. He ran in the Varsity Class A group and came in 67th at 23:23, it's a 3mi race. Super impressed by all these kids. After the meet, we went home got some yard work done before dropping J off for a CYC scavenger hunt and D for hockey practice. This has to be the first time that both boys had activities at the same time on a weekend night so we took the opportunity for a quiet dinner just the two of us :)
Sunday morning was the usual Mass followed by some cooking for a party and gathering photos to print. I am going away to a crop and photos are needed, lots of photos. Which would explain why I am still up at 12:20am writing this blog post...photos are uploading. After my food contribution was done, we packed up and headed to the patch. We needed some pumpkins for the pumpkin carving party.
I love that my boys are still into it and were the oldest "kids" carving pumpkins surrounded by munchkins!
Hope you had a wonderful weekend as well!

Share a Card/Layout

I managed to get a few pages done over the weekend as always, I try to participate in the challenges I put out to my scrappers. This layout fits the criteria for our Friday sketch challenge as well as challenge #1: use different fonts in your title with a bonus challenge of using a song title/lyric as the title.
Red Sox paper from Joann's - I am an equal opportunity shopper, Sox die-cut from Amelia & Me, the rest of the patterned paper is Moxxie's baseball line and all cardstock is, of course, Bazzill. And here is the sketch we used from pagemaps.com.

Weekend Wrap-up

Happy and exhausted after another successful Just Scrappin' weekend. We were back at the newly designed Doubletree by Hilton in Westboro, MA. We added breakfast Friday and an ice-cream social on Friday night that I think was a hit with the scrappers. If you were there, feel free to leave a comment here.
Starting on Thursday night was also an added bonus. The wholday Friday, I felt like it was a Saturday and when Saturday rolled around...it was like BONUS SCRAPPING DAY! Raise your hand if you liked the early start. Also, look who showed up to visit with us Saturday morning. It's been a while since we've seen this girl :)
A scrappy weekend isn't quite the same without buffets of all kinds and the Doubletree is the best as setting them out. We had some amazing grilled veggies for dinner on Saturday and even a dessert buffet late at night.

It wouldn't be cool not to mention the very popular card buffet that I set up for the ladies to celebrate National Card-making day. $5 and they walked away with 6 kid-themed cards. Look at them all hard at work and having a great time. Raise your hands if you would like to see this at our next crop!

There was even a fun meal surprise for Sunday brunch...we hired a made-to-order Omelette station complete. I hope everyone enjoyed the weekend and all the fun gifts, classes and surprises over the weekend. Until the next one!

Around Here

Around here I am spending today and the weekend running my Just Scrappin' crop in Westboro.

Around here the weather has been absolutely gorgeous. Turning a little cold in the evenings and early morning but the sun is out. Soon enough the leaves will change and the coats will have to come out. Until then, I am enjoying the sun and milder temps.

Around here I have been waking up early with my high schooler and getting Diego out for his walk before work. This is going to change to an indoor workout in the early morning and a walk in the middle of the day if it gets any colder in the morning.

Around here I have a huge pile of books to read as well as listening to a book on CD's while I travel back and forth from events.

Around here it feels like some drivers have gone absolutely mad. If you lose it while waiting for an elementary school walking line to disperse, there is something seriously wrong with you.

Around here I am learning a new sport, cross country, and really enjoying watching and supporting my son and his team. Totally impressed by the speed of some of these kids, perseverance of others and the distance they put in at practice.

Around here I am still turning out new layout kits and can't wait to share them with you.

Around here I am learning to use my new Silhouette machine. I loved the Cricut Explore machine but the software wasn't powerful enough for me and I didn't like being tied to the internet when I wanted to use it.

Around here life is busy and full but I wouldn't change any of it.
